One Last Post Dedicated to the Weekend with our Pensacola Family

"Daddy's home!"

My bro Chris is in his 3rd year of residency. He came home from his on-call shift at about 9:00 AM. As we all finished eating breakfast, we heard the front door open. Then three little girls became giddy (yes, even Baby Georgia) and two of them let out shouts of "daddy!!!" as they all ran towards the door. It was so cute! I tried to capture the Kodak moment, but didn't quite capture the excitement.

Georgieeee and Stace!
January 14th is Kate's 4th birthday. Since we won't be able to see her on that day, Uncle Stace and I decided to throw her a little surprise early birthday party. So we got some pink boa's, made a cake, and got her really really hyper right before bedtime! ;P

We let Caroline pick out a present for her sister, this 99 cent giant pencil. Kate was pretty excited, but I think Caroline was more excited to give it to her.

Caroline and Kate jumping up and down while mommy lights the candles.

Still on cloud 9 that all this is for her!

We love our spunky little Kate! She makes the funniest expressions:)

"Ohhhh! FINGER PAINT! Thank youuuu!" They said to me.
"Oh!!! Aunt Kim! Revenge is sweet" their mommy said to me.

"I wanna make you beautiful"

Friday night I felt a tug on my arm and turned around to see the pouty face of an adorable three-year-old looking up at me. "Aunt Jessica...um...Aunt Kim, I wanna do your hair," little Kate said. "You do!?" I replied. "Yes...I wanna make you beautiful."

It was quite a long and arduous process. Gobs and gobs of lip gloss, bronzer that was much too dark, plenty of eyeshadow, and a bit of hair teasing were not able to fully satisfy little Kate. While Caroline, the in-house photographer at the photo shooot, was very proud of her photo-snapping skills, Kate, on the other hand, was not so proud of the product of her creation.

See process below:

"Am I beautiful yet?" I asked, after the final dab of lip gloss was applied. "No, not quite...." her voice simply trailed off and she ran off to pursue her next method of entertainment. And I went straightway to the landryroom to Shout spray my new white shirt.

I love my little nieces! :-P

Happy New Year!

On New Years Day Stace's parents had a bonfire at their homestead. It was loads of fun to roast hot dogs & marshmallows & drink hot chocolate with the family. It is so neat to have so much family all living in the same town. (This is new thing for both Stace and I.) It was also great to meet cousins Jackson and Kylie, who came to visit from CT!
AND I also got a kisssssss from Clemon!!! It made my life :)
