How many crafts do I pin, thinking "Oh, that's so cute! I've got to to do that!" and then the crafting on said pin never commences? Hundreds? Probs. But on Sunday night, I saw this turkey shirt on Pinterest and I was instantly inspired! I knew I wanted to make it...really quick...since Thanksgiving was only four days away!
Monday morning I went to Wal-Mart to get brown shirts. I found Julian's, but had no luck finding one for Ella Grace. So then I went to Goodwill. Again, no luck. Had to go home for nap time. During naps I got to work on Julian's. After naps I went to Timbuktu to the Super Wal-Mart, hoping their bigger selection would provide me a shirt for Ella Grace's turkey top. None such. Then I went to Target. Again, no luck!!! Finally, I went to Old Navy. There, wedged between the swimsuits, costumes, and pj's was ONE brown shirt. One. In her size! But it had no tag. How much was this gonna set me back? I took it up to the register and it was a whopping .47 cents! Love it when stuff like that happens!
I finished the shirts last night this morning before I went to bed...I won't say what time...I am pretty slow with a sewing machine (& with most everything), but I am happy with the way they turned out. Here's hoping they don't fall apart in the wash!
We had our Family Home Evening tonight on being thankful. Then we made our silly little gobbler just like last year. Daddy and Julian stuck the grapes and cheese on the skewers, while I worked on the face and pepper feathers, and Ella Grace offered moral support from her high chair eating raisins.
Next we did our (now) annual turkey hunt! Julian had so much fun! Ella Grace was having the time of her life, squealing in delight, simply because brother was excited!
Enthusiasm 
These pictures look fun, but my most favorite part of the night was when Stace played the guitar and we all sang "I am a Child of God" to start out FHE. Julian was belting it out, Stace was harmonizing, and Ella Grace was a dancing queen. I had to stop singing because I was so choked up. I looked around at my family and I was so thankful.
They say that before you die, images of the highlights of your life will flash before your eyes. Tonight, singing that song with my family...well, that would definitely make it to my highlight reel.
